Morrell Munyon

Howdy! My name is Morrell Munyon and I am a senior studying finance at Texas A&M. I was born and raised in College Station and have grown up at the A&M Church of Christ, so I have heard tales of the AFC doing mission work overseas and I am excited to finally participate myself! God has been working in such amazing ways in my life over the past few years, and I cannot wait to see the plans he has in store for me in Thailand. I only started serving in AFC this year, but it has been amazing how quickly God has snowballed me from a weekend trip, to a week-long trip, to now a 6-week service trip in Thailand! After I graduate in December, I'm considering a six-month serve abroad in Thailand for the break before I start my Master's, so I'm sure this trip will have plenty of God opportunities to help make my decision!

Thank you to everyone for all their donations, prayers, and support. Gig'em and God Bless!

Darcy Rae Jacoby

Well HOWDY!! I am Darcy Rae Jacoby, a loud and proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2014 (A-A-A WHOOP) and Agriculture Communications major from Burnet, TX. A few of my hobbies include running, recreational tree climbing, watching baseball, playing 42 (dominoes), singing off-key and taking long walks on the beach.

These last two years of working on service projects, coordinating and participating in events, filming videos and building relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ have all contributed to a fulfilling, challenging and enjoyable experience with the Aggies For Christ. As the Lord has used me to influence others, I in turn have seen His hand change my life and draw me deeper into my walk with Christ; through this a goal has developed in my heart to live simply and give freely, which I continue moving towards as I grow.

Therefore, I am incredibly excited to serve and show His glory on my first overseas mission trip by spreading the Gospel, teaching English, and giving to the people in Thailand. I am also eager for the great opportunities to work with my hands- particularly with the project of building a playground for a church preschool program in the village of Kranuan.

Thanks to all who have given blessed prayers and support. How wonderful it will be to see God at work in this experience!

Lindsey Hawkins

Howdy, my name is Lindsey Hawkins, and I am so excited that God has blessed me with the opportunity to be apart of the AFC Thailand team this summer. I am a senior psychology major with a minor in sociology at Texas A&M, and I plan to continue my education at ACU graduate program of marriage and family therapy. I am from San Antonio, Texas, and I grew up in an amazing Christian home with lots of love and support. I am most excited about the opportunity in Thailand to build relationships with the Thai people, and being able to see and hear how God has worked in their lives. I am counting down the days until we leave for Thailand on July 3rd, and I look forward to being able to share with each of you how God is working in our lives and the lives of others in Thailand.

Ben Wilde

Howdy!
My name is Ben Wilde and I am the leader of the trip.  I was a member of a team that worked in Thailand last year and I decided to lead this trip and return to this special country because of the relationships that I built last summer.  I am a junior studying architecture at A&M.  One of the things that excites me the most about this trip is our opportunity to help design and build a playground for the church in Kranuan.  This will be a great way to use skills that I have learned from the university as well as my job experience in the building trades to serve God and increase the visibility of the church in Kranuan.  I am also exited to continue fostering relationships with people in Thailand that I met last summer and to make new friends as well.  I feel that living overseas is a real possibility in my life in the near future and will have my eyes peeled for opportunities to do that when I graduate.

Howdy! My name is Jamie Green, and I am so excited to be a part of the AFC team going to Thailand this summer! I am a Senior, Middle-School education major at Texas A&M and will be graduating in May of 2013. I am from Longview, TX, and I have a wonderful, loving, Christian family that I am so very thankful for. I am most excited about having the opportunity to teach English to children in a public school in Thailand. I am passionate about working with children, and I cannot wait to meet and build relationships with all the kids we are going to work with this summer! I look forward to keeping everyone updated throughout our trip!

Kara Washam

My name is Kara, and I am a senior education major at Texas A&M. Recently, I returned from Italy.  I was there for two months teaching English in the public middle schools.  That was my first time out of the country for an extended period of time. This summer, I have the opportunity to travel to Thailand on a mission trip.   I have been blessed and supported by so many people, and without them this trip would not be possible.  I am really excited for July 3rd to get here so I can meet some wonderful Thai people.

First Post

Howdy!

Right now, we are all sitting around a table and working on tasks we need to finish before we leave College Station.  After this weekend, the next time we will be together is at the Bangkok airport.  We are starting this blog to show our generous friends and family what God is doing through us in Thailand.  We plan to diligently post when we can; thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. The next couple posts will be introductions of each team member and then when we get to Thailand we will have updates of our work there.
